On Friday, July 5, 2019 while on general patrol, Columbia Police Dept. Officers came upon a male and female on Greensburg Street in the midst of a verbal altercation. After stopping and speaking with both subjects, it was discovered there was an active domestic violence order in place against the male subject. Upon a search of the male, there was a white crystal substance and paraphernalia located.
Allen Glen Yates, 55, of Columbia, KY was taken into custody and charged with Violation of an EPO/DVO, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st offense (Methamphetamine). Yates was lodged in the Adair Co. Regional Jail by CPD Officer Evan Burton, who was assisted on scene by Officer Jordan Dean.
