A 2-vehicle accident on Monday in Columbia sent one driver and 3 juvenile passengers to the hospital.
On Monday, July 15, 2019 the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to the injury accident at the junction of Gaston Ave and Jamestown Street. The preliminary investigation determined that a 2006 Toyota Prius, operated by Brenda K Johnson of Illinois, pulled out onto Jamestown Street from Gaston Ave. When doing so pulled directly into the path of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Macy Chamness of Columbia.
Johnson & 2 juvenile passengers were transported to T J Health Columbia. One juvenile passenger in the Chamness auto was also transported to T.J. Health Columbia by Adair County EMS.
Adair County Sheriff's Deputy Derek Padgett is the investigating Officer. He was assisted on scene by Adair EMS, Adair County Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, and Columbia City Police.
