On Saturday morning, July 13, 2019 Columbia Police Department Officers responded to a 2-vehicle accident with injuries on Hudson Street between A1 Auto and Don Franklin Ford.
The accident occurred when a 17-year-old operator of a 2008 Mercury Mariner pulled out of A1 and into the path of a 2005 Dodge Caravan. The Caravan was occupied by two adults, William Corbin and Alicia Burton, both of Columbia, KY. There were also a total of 10 juveniles, with ages varying from 2 to 14 in the van. Various parties were treated on scene by Adair EMS before being transferred to T.J. Health Columbia for further treatment. One was later transferred to the UofL Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Sgt. Gary Roy was the investigating officer. He was assisted at the scene by the Adair County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police, and the Columbia Fire Department.
