On Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at approximately 7:30amCT, Adair County Sheriff's Office deputies, along with Sheriff Josh Brockman, responded to a cornfield 12 miles east of Columbia. Acting on information of suspicious vehicle being seen in the area, and with the use of a drone, marijuana was found to be growing between the rows of corn. After more than 3 hours, the Sheriff's Office had cut and packed out 1,017 marijuana plants. The plants ranged from 3 feet to 6 feet in height, with a street value of over $500,000 at full maturity.
