The Adair County Sheriffs Office received a report of a stolen handgun on Monday, August 5th, 2019. During the investigation Deputies received information that the gun was at a Russell County residence. Deputy Justin Cross proceeded to that location where he met the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. The firearm was recovered and as a result on Thursday, August 7, 2019 Hunter Young, age 18 of Columbia, KY was arrested and charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking (Firearm). He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
