A Russell County man was charged with DUI following a 1-vehicle accident over the weekend.
Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston reports that on Saturday, August 16, 2019 at 9:25pmCT, the Russell County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident just South of Jamestown on Hwy 619. John M. Camp, age 44 of Happy Acre Lane, Jamestown, KY was operating a 2000 Jeep when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the roadway striking a culvert, causing the vehicle to overturn, travel down the ditch-line and catch on fire.
John Camp and his passenger, Randal Walker, 41, of Russell Springs, KY were both taken to Russell County Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Camp was treated and released. He was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle under the influence of Alcohol, 1st offense and taken to the Russell County Detention Center.
