According to a published report from the Lebanon Enterprise, a Raywick man has died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on Saturday afternoon, August 31, 2019 just west of Lebanon, KY.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Dept., 55-year-old Phillip W. Lamkin of Raywick, KY was traveling on St. Mary's Road when another vehicle, operated by 24-year-old Benjamin P. Thomas of Raywick, KY was pulling a utility trailer with two zero turn mowers, when he lost control & collided with the Lamkin vehicle. Following the impact, Lamkin's vehicle burst into flames. Lamkin was pulled from the burning auto and airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville, KY with severe burns over most of his body. He died on Monday at the hospital. Benjamin Thomas was treated and released from Springview Hospital in Lebanon.
The mishap occurred just before 2pmET on Saturday and was investigated by the Marion County Sheriff's Dept.
