Early this morning (Thursday), Columbia Police were asked to come to the Adair Regional Jail after contraband was discovered on a recently booked inmate. The inmate was brought in on active warrants by Burksville Police, and when searched by jail staff was found to have 2 clear baggies with a powder substance concealed on him. Contents of the baggies were field tested positive for methamphetamine.
John Carter, 28, of Burksville, KY was charged with Promoting Contraband and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). CPD Officer Adam Cravens was the investigating Officer.
