(Columbia, KY September 5th 2019) During the month of August 2019, there were 10 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were 3 fatal collisions during the month of August in the Post 15 area:
- Joseph A. Curry, 42, of Metcalfe Co. was killed on 08/04/19 in Cumberland Co.
- Susan J. Harper, 41, of Metcalfe Co. was killed on 08/04/19 in Cumberland Co.
- Keith D. Jewell, 44, of Green Co. was killed on 08/23/19 in Taylor Co.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 15 compared with 17 through this same period in 2018.
Statewide fatality count stands at 493 compared with 473 through this same period in 2018.
During the month of August 2019, there were 490 citations written, 115 courtesy notices written, 329 complaints answered, 37 motorists assisted, 27 criminal cases opened and 205 criminal arrests made.
