A traffic stop in the Middletown community of Russell Co. just after midnight on Thursday night, September 26, 2019 resulted in two drug arrests.
RSPD Officer Lucas Justice initiated the traffic stop on a 2001 Ford truck for expired tags. Throughout the course of the stop, items of drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and suspected methamphetamine were located. The driver, 42-year-old Troy Paige of Jamestown, KY and a passenger, 49-year-old Edythe Long of Somerset, KY were taken into custody.
Troy Paige was charged with No registration plates, No registration receipt, Driving on DUI suspended license, Failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree (Methamphetamine).
Edyth Long was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, (Methamphetamine).
Both individuals were lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
