Campbellsville, KY (September 30, 2019) Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle fatal collision 13 miles East of Campbellsville on KY70 today at 6:05 am ET.

Preliminary investigation indicates 68 year-old Donald Sparks of Shepherdsville was operating a 2003 Freightliner semi-truck and trailer traveling east on KY70.  Sparks was traveling too fast for the terrain of the roadway causing him to lose control of the vehicle.  The trailer he was pulling struck the guardrail overturning over an embankment, which caused the truck to then overturn.

The collision is being investigated by Sgt. Randall A. Honeycutt and was assisted by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS, Campbellsville Fire and Rescue, Taylor County Fire Department and Kentucky Department of Transportation.
