At approximately 8:00amCT this morning, 27-year-old Daniel P. Turner of Columbia, KY was traveling south on Hwy 76 in a 2006 International Tri-Axle dump truck when his right tires left the roadway. Turner attempted to pull back onto the roadway and overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn onto the drivers side.
Turner, who was hauling 26 tons of gravel for GAT Trucking, Inc. of Columbia, was not injured.
The accident is being investigated by Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy Luke Hughes. He was assisted at the scene by the Eli Fire Dept.
