On Tuesday, October 1, 2019 Columbia Police Dept. Officers were asked to respond to the Adair Co. Regional Jail just before 2:00amCT after an inmate, who was being booked in from Cumberland County, was found to have concealed contraband. The inmate was being searched as part of the booking process when a Deputy Jailer located a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystal substance.
Jevonda Denee Cundiff, 49, of Louisville, KY was charged at the jail with Promoting Contraband, 1st degree as well as Possession of Methamphetamine, 3rd or greater offense (both felonies).
This is the third instance in just over 3 weeks that Jail staff have located suspected methamphetamine on individual suspects as they were been booked into jail.
