According to Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman, on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 the Sheriffs Office received a complaint of a stolen firearm from Grider Road in Columbia. On Thursday, October 24th, 2019 the investigation led to a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued for 26-year-old Maggie Zimmerman of Columbia. On Saturday, October 26th, 2019 Zimmerman was located and arrested on Carrie Bolin Drive. The stolen 40 caliber Taurus handgun was recovered and returned to the owner.
Zimmerman was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking (Firearm), a Class D Felony.
The Adair Co. Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
