The Russell County Public Library has announced that it will be closing to the public on Friday, November 22, 2019 in order to begin moving to its newly constructed facility, located adjacent to the Dollar General Market in Jamestown, KY. The Library received a $2.6 million grant from the Kentucky Department of Libraries & Archives in 2017, making the construction project possible. The Library anticipates the closure will last between 2-4 weeks, and details for a grand opening will be released at a later date.
The Library reminds the community that items already checked out will be renewed and no overdue fines will be assessed during the transition. The book drop located at the old Main Library building in Jamestown will continue to be available to return items for the duration of the closure.
A complete list of Frequently Asked Questions is available on the Library's Facebook page, and the Library invites the entire community to stock up on reading material this week. For more information, contact the Russell County Public Library at (270) 343-7323.
