The Columbia Police Department responded to a 2-vehicle sideswipe collision on Sunday evening that sent one driver to a Louisville hospital.
The accident occurred just before 5:00pmCT on Bomar Heights. Diontae Ennis, 30, of Columbia, KY was operating a 2019 Dodge Charger rental car from Ohio when he met a 2008 Ford Focus in a curve, being operated by 84-year-old Cassius Beard of Columbia, KY and the vehicles had a nearly head-on side swipe.
Mr. Beard was taken by EMS to TJ Health Columbia and was later airlifted to UofL Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Ennis was not injured.
CPD Officer Evan Burton investigated the collision. He was assisted on scene by Officer Jordan Dean and KSP.
