Former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin issued dozens of pardons as his final acts as governor. Among the pardons are 5 people convicted of murder. One of them was an Adair Co. man convicted in 2002 of murdering his parents, Blake Peterson Walker.
In Bevin's pardon he states Walker couldn't capture his full thought process as he weighed the decision of how to handle commutation and the pardon of Walker. Bevin went on to say that Walker "committed a crime for which only God can provide true forgiveness", and that Walker is "blessed by a loving and forgiving family" and it is this alone that tips the delicate balance in the direction of his request.
Walker's pardon was filed in the Secretary of State's Office on Dec. 11th, 2019.
