The Adair County Sheriffs Office and Columbia Police Department arrested 2 Taylor Countians on Trespassing and Methamphetamine charges early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to an incident at Walmart at approx. 3:00amCT yesterday morning. An individual, who had been previously banned from the Walmart property, was at the location. The individual, along with another Taylor County man, had left the store and was located in the parking lot by K-9 Sheriffs Deputy Josh Durbin and Columbia Police Officer Jamie Cole.
During the investigation, Officers suspected narcotics were in the vehicle, so Deputy Durbin deployed his K-9 ”Nitro”. As a result, methamphetamine was located in both the drivers compartment and the passengers compartment.
31-year-old Thomas Brown of Elkhorn, KY was arrested by Deputy Durbin on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Criminal Trespassing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and was served a Bench Warrant for Court.
The passenger, 25-year-old Tyler Nichols of Campbellsville, KY was found to be in Possession of Methamphetamine and was arrested by CPD Officer Jamie Cole for Possession of a Controlled Substance, (Methamphetamine).
Both individuals were lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. The Adair County Sheriffs Office and Columbia Police Department are continuing the investigation.
