Liberty, KY (December 24, 2019) - On Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 3:20pmET, Trooper Billy Begley was on routine patrol 5 miles west of Liberty on KY 206 when he initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 Dodge pickup for a registration violation. Tpr. Begley made contact with the driver, 32 year old Buddy Bernard of Russell Springs, KY. Consent to search the vehicle was given, resulting in Tpr Begley locating several small bags containing suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, syringes and prescription medications. 
 

Bernard was arrested and charged with No Registration Receipt, No Registration Plate, No Insurance Card, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st offense, Failure to Notify Address Change to the Dept. of Transportation, Owner to Notify Clerk of Residence of Name Change, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), and Possession of Marijuana. Bernard was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.
