Greensburg firefighters were called to a house fire on Sunday morning at 6:06amCT in the area of the Old Depot. The Greensburg Police Dept. and the Greensburg/Green Co. Fire Dept were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the house was totally engulfed in flames and it was determined there may be a male juvenile still inside the residence. While working the fire, the remains of a body were located inside the residence. Arson is not suspected. The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office for positive identification.
The Green County Coroner, Greensburg Police Dept., and KSP are conducting a death investigation. The State Arson Investigator responded to the scene, per normal procedure when a death is involved.
