According to Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman, the accident occurred on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 9:52amCT approximately 7 miles west of Columbia on KY 80.
Preliminary investigation shows that 18-year-old James Kelsay of Columbia, KY was operating a 1990 Dodge truck westbound on Edmonton Road, when he crossed the centerline, striking a 2013 Honda SUV being operated by 70-year-old Diane Haynes of Columbia. Haynes vehicle then left the roadway and struck an earth embankment.
Both Kelsay and Haynes were treated on scene by Adair EMS then transported to TJ Health Columbia.
