This morning (Monday), Adair County K-9 Deputy Josh Durbin observed a vehicle at 1:45amCT turn into the parking lot of a closed business. When the Deputy turned in to check on the vehicle, the driver began to pull out. A check of registration revealed the license plates were expired and an insurance indicator was not valid. Deputy Durbin initiated a traffic stop approximately 4 miles north of Columbia on KY 55.
Following a roadside investigation, Officers discovered that 24-year-old Skylar Riggins of Columbia, KY was in possession of illegal narcotics. He was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Regional jail on the following charges:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (methamphetamine)
- Possession of Synthetic Drugs 1st degree
- Possession of Marijuana
- Wanton Endangerment 2nd degree
- Expired Registration Plates
- No Insurance
- Improper Equipment
- Outstanding Warrant from Russell District Court
