Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston reports that just before 9:00amCT on Thursday, February 6, 2020 a 2-vehicle accident occurred on Hwy 80 in the Royville community. Brooklyn Beard, age 18 of Magnolia, KY was operating a 2016 Ram 1500 pickup. She rear-ended a 2002 Ford Van being operated by Russell Antle of Russell Springs, KY as he was waiting to turn into his residence. According to authorities, rain slick highways played a factor in the accident.
Brooklyn Beard was arrested at the scene by Sheriff Polston for Operating on Suspended License and No Insurance. She was also served with a outstanding warrant and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. Assisting at the scene were Chief Deputy Jerry Melton and Deputy Luke Hughes.
