At 3:48amCT this morning (Friday, Feb. 14th), Adair Co. Sheriff's Deputy Dereck Padgett initiated a traffic stop on a 2000 Cadillac on Adventist Church Road. A roadside investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Skyler Riggins of Russell Springs. He was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine consistent with trafficking. Riggens was also wanted on a Parole warrant and had marijuana in his possession.
Riggens was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana, Promoting Contraband, and a Parole Violation warrant. He was lodged in the Adair Co. Regional Jail.
Deputy Padgett was assisted by Columbia Police Officer John Dial and K-9 Gunner. The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing investigation.
