In a news release from Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots office, the month of February 2020 has been proclaimed African American History Month in Columbia, KY.
"We want to recognize African Americans in our community and their achievements to make our town such a great place to live," said Mayor Hoots.
This year's national theme for the month is "African Americans & the Vote" and focuses on their journey to get the right to vote.
