According to Jamestown Fire Chief Jeff Landers, the department was dispatched out at 4:45pmCT on Saturday, February 22, 2020 to a structure fire on Hwy 1680 South at Pleasant Hill. The structure was a lakehouse owned by Judy Johnson who reported that when she came home, she found heavy smoke in the residence. The first firefighter on the scene found heavy smoke and fire on the main floor. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and discovered the fire apparently had started in the crawlspace under the main floor around the flu. Firemen were on the scene for approx. 3 hours. The home sustained light damage to the floor around the flu and smoke damage throughout the residence.
