In an announcement released today (Wednesday) from Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots, plans are proceeding on the Synergy Food Group’s manufacturing location. Synergy Food Group is headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and is a production management and food marketing company.
“We are excited to be locating in Columbia, Kentucky,” said CEO Greg Durrett. “South central Kentucky is home to us and we are pleased to be able to be a part of a growing economy in this area.”
Synergy Food Group has a new brand called EduKitchens, which is a K-12 program for schools developed for the purpose of school nutrition. They produce the individual frozen and multi-frozen meal kits in addition to shelf stable meals. They have SQF certified production facilities in Georgia and North Carolina, as well as several affiliate offices.
The company will have an initial job fair during the month of June. “We urge people in Columbia and surrounding communities that are interested to visit with us,” said Durrett. “Our goal is to be a good employer for the community.”
Synergy Food Group will be having a groundbreaking and a press conference prior to their opening.
