On Friday afternoon, May 6th, 2022 Adair County School Resource Officers from the Columbia Police Department were alerted by staff at the Adair County Board of Education’s Central Office that a male subject who had trespassed on school property on Monday, May 2, 2022 was walking on Greensburg Street in front of the Central Office and Adair County Middle School.
An officer drove to the school intersection and Greensburg Street to see if the subject had come onto the property. The male, after seeing the police cruiser, continued to walk on Greensburg Street past Indian Drive. During this time, the officer moved out of view from Greensburg Street and within minutes received another call that the party had turned around and was now walking on school property towards ACHS.
Officers stopped the male who was still walking near the gate on Indian Drive and took him into custody without incident.
Paul Abrell, 42, of Columbia has been charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd degree, Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Abrell was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
Officer Adam Cravens made the arrest and was assisted on scene by Officer John Harris.
