The Columbia Police Department concluded a contraband and drug trafficking investigation which had previously began on May 4 of this year. Officers were notified by Adair County Regional Jail after suspected narcotics were found by Deputy Jailers.
After a preliminary investigation, evidence was presented to a Grand Jury with two indictments being returned. Skylar Riggins, 26, of Russell Springs has been charged with conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance as well as persistent felony offender. Brent Grimsley, 40, of Dunnville has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance drug unspecified, promoting contraband, and persistent felony offender. Grimsley was located in Russell County and taken into custody before being transported to the Adair County Regional Jail. Riggins was served his indictment warrant while lodged within the Adair Regional Jail.
