The Russell County Sheriffs Office responded to a 2-vehicle accident with injuries on Thursday, August 11, 2022 on Hwy 910 in the Salem Community.
Unit #1, Matthew Green of Russell Springs, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Cobalt on Ky 910. Unit #2, Donald Lucas of Ohio, was operating a 2012 Cadillac on Ky 910. The vehicles collided nearly head-on and both drivers were transported to Russell County Hospital and later taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
Pending release from the hospital, charges are expected to be filed on Matthew Green.
Deputy Dustin Bunch is the investigating officer and was assisted at the scene by Deputies Corey Meyer and Nathan Ginn along with Sheriff Derek Polston. Also assisting were Coroner Mark Coots, the Eli Fire Department, Russell County EMS, Petey's Towing and Coe's Towing.
