Between Saturday, October 28th and Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, the West Hwy 80 Marathon gas station was burglarized three separate times. During the investigation, RSPD obtained information from a public source indicating a particular individual’s involvement in the burglaries. 
 

Officers Brenton Llané and Mason Miniard headed up the investigation, with the assistance of Lieutenant Bobby Pritchard, which ultimately led to the identification of the suspect as well as the discovery of a large quantity of the stolen merchandise. The suspect is 18-year-old Ryan West of Russell Springs. He was arrested on Thursday, November 2, 2023 and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. The stolen merchandise was returned to the victim of the burglaries.
