The Columbia - Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 2:58pmCT on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 to a mutual aid request by the Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Dept. on a report of a structure fire at 8597 Knifley Road. The structure appeared to be an abandoned house.
Upon arrival, the structure was on fire and was completely on the ground, according to Grant Loy, the Columbia-Adair Co. Fire Dept. Public Information Officer. Firefighters contained the fire to the structure and a small area of grass around the structure.
Eleven firefighters were on the scene for approximately an hour and a half.
