On Friday morning around 7:00amCT, Deputy Gary Roy and Sheriff Josh Brockman was dispatched to the 9000 block of KY 80 East to check on the safety of the residents. Initially, Columbia Probation Officer Dustin Harvey had received a call from a female stating that Robert Myerhoff was holding her and 4 children in their home and was not allowing them to leave. 32-year-old Robert Cody Myerhoff is under the supervision of the KY Department of Probation and Parole.
Upon arrival by the ACSO, they found the doors of the home had been padlocked and reinforced, with Mr. Myerhoff refusing to open the door. Eventually, he was spotted by Deputy Roy exiting another door of the house and was taken into custody at that time.
Robert Myerhoff was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on the following charges:
- Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree
- Wanton Endangerment 3rd degree
- Public Intoxication of a Controlled Substance (Excluding Alcohol) and
- Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
The Adair County Sheriffs Office is continuing the investigation.
