A KSP Trooper has been indicted for TBUT over $10,000 but less than $1 million and Abuse of Public Trust, both Class C Felonies.
The indictments against 42-year-old Daniel S. Forbis of Salem Church Road, Campbellsville, KY were filed on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Franklin Circuit Court.
COUNT 1
The Grand Jury charges that between on or about the 17th day of June 2023 and on or about the 18th day of February 2024 in Franklin County, KY, Daniel S. Forbis committed the offense of Theft by Unlawful taking of Property valued at over $10,000 but less than $1,000,000, when he unlawfully took or exercised control over movable property belonging to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and/or the Kentucky State Police, with the intent to deprive such entity or entities thereof.
COUNT 2
The Grand Jury charges that between on or about the 17th day of June, 2023 and on or about the 18th day of February 2024 in Franklin County, KY, Daniel S. Forbis committed the offense of Abuse of Public Trust when he, acting as a public servant entrusted with public property by reason of his employment with the Commonwealth of Kentucky or a governmental instrumentality of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, or exercising the functions of a public officer or employee or participating in a governmental function, obtained public property in excess of $10,000 from or through the Kentucky State Police, subject to a known legal obligation to make specified disposition thereof, and intentionally dealt with such public property as his own and failed to make the required disposition.
