WAVE News has learned that the suspect is 41-year-old Joshua Arnold of Russell Springs, KY. Both Arnold and Deputy Josh Phipps were killed after gunfire was exchanged.
Arnold was a fugitive on a Russell County Failure to Appear Warrant in a case that included drug-related charges and other offenses. KNN's John Shannon has more details....
Deputy Josh Phipps was a 3-year veteran of the RCSO. A Candlelight Vigil for Deputy Phipps was held on Wednesday evening at the Russell County Courthouse in Jamestown. The funeral service for Deputy Phipps is this Saturday, September 22, 2024 at 3Trees church in Russell Springs. Stotts Phelps McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
