On Thursday night at 11:37 p.m., the Columbia Police Department was dispatched to Holloway Drive in response to a reported domestic violence complaint. CPD officers, along with the Adair County Sheriffs Office, located the alleged male suspect at the scene and took him into custody without incident.

The female victim was transported by Adair County EMS to the T.J. Health Columbia where she was treated and later released.

Brandon L. Gist, 19, of Louisville, KY was arrested and charged with Assault, 2nd degree and Strangulation 1st Degree (Domestic Violence Related). He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail

Columbia Police Officer Nathan Ginn made the arrest and was assisted by Officer Tyler McKinney and Adair County Deputy Hunter Tweedy.
