On Saturday morning at 6:30AM, the JVFD was dispatched to the report of a vehicle off the road in a ditch. On-scene units found a box truck off the road, about 75’ down an embankment. The driver had self extricated himself, with only cuts to his hand.
Hwy 127 was closed for about 5 hours. Members handled traffic control, mitigation, and a small grass fire.
Firefighters were on the scene for just over 7 hours total. They were assisted by the Russell County Sheriff's Department, Russell County EMS, and RC-911. Thanks to responding members for putting in a long day, and the public bearing with the road closure.
