On Sunday, June 28, 2026, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5000 block of Knifley Road in reference to a suspicious male walking on the roadway, carrying what appeared to be some type of long gun.
Deputies made contact with 36-year-old Derek Otterson of Columbia, KY. Otterson was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
The arrest was made by Adair County Deputy Ricky Shirley.
