At approximately 9:30 PM on Tuesday, Search and Rescue was notified of two overdue kayakers. Several team members responded to the area and located the individuals on land after their kayaks had overturned. Two SAR members were deployed separately to retrieve the kayaks so the pair could be safely transported back to their cabin.

PSA: When you call for help, please stay put. Remaining in one location is critical for a fast and safe response. Moving after calling 911 or SAR can delay rescue efforts, increase risk, and make it significantly harder for teams to locate you—especially at night or in low?visibility conditions. Staying where you are allows responders to reach you quickly and get you home safely.
