The following is a message from R.C. School Supt. Michael Ford that was sent to parents/guardians of RCMS students as well as Russell County School System staff members concerning the hiring of a new Russell County Middle School principal.
I am pleased to share that Mrs. Sarah Aaron has been selected as the new principal of Russell County Middle School.
Mrs. Aaron currently serves as assistant principal at Russell County Middle School, a position she has held since July 2024. Before becoming assistant principal, she taught mathematics at RCMS for four years. She began her career as a mathematics teacher for Clinton County Schools.
Her background includes experience in instructional leadership, school improvement planning, student services, teacher mentoring, assessment, special education processes, and building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and other stakeholders. Mrs. Aaron has expressed her commitment to building upon the progress RCMS has made in academics, school culture, and climate while ensuring that every decision places students first.
I would like to thank the Russell County Middle School Site-Based Decision Making Council for its dedication and hard work throughout this process and its commitment to a thorough and thoughtful selection process.
As we move forward, I am confident Mrs. Aaron will continue supporting our students, staff, and families while building upon the positive momentum and strong traditions of Russell County Middle School.
