The Air Methods of Kentucky base in Russell County will officially celebrate its opening with a special event on Thursday, Aug. 6 at Russell County Airport in Jamestown. The ceremony will feature comments from Air Methods leaders, local leaders, and Kentucky 15 crew members. Attendees will also have an opportunity to tour the base’s EC130 air ambulance (subject to service availability).
The EC130 is fully equipped with the advanced medical equipment and medications required to function as a flying ICU. The industry-leading flight nurses and paramedics carry blood on board, allowing them to administer this lifesaving resource at a trauma scene or in flight.
Since opening in June, Kentucky 15 has already transported 45 patients across the state. The new based joined Air Methods of Kentucky bases in Bedford, Corydon, Elizabethtown, Glasgow, Mt. Sterling, and Somerset.
Air Methods is dedicated to serving communities across Kentucky and beyond. The company is in-network with most health insurance providers, and the Air Methods patient advocacy program works with all patients, regardless of insurance, to help ensure the affordability of air medical services.
