Andy Schmidt, 42, of Lexington, KY was camping on the Jabez side of the lake with a group of friends. They went swimming and the friends heard him holler a short time later. Schmidt reportedly went under in the cove area.
Mr. Schmidt's body was recovered at 9:50AM this (Sunday) morning. He was pronounced deceased at 10:00amCT by Russell County Coroner, Mark Coots. His body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort, KY to determine the exact cause of death.
