It was a tragic Weekend on Lake Cumberland: Two Men Recovered in Separate Drownings.

?In Russell County (Wolf Creek Landing / Jabez)

?Victim: Andy Schmidt, 42, of Lexington.

?Schmidt, went missing on Saturday after going under; his body was recovered around 9 a.m. Sunday.

? Schmidt according to reports, was camping with a group near Wolfe Creek Landing (across from the Lake Cumberland Marina). According to the Russell County Coroner, he and a friend were swimming when he yelled, went under the water, and never resurfaced.

?In the 2nd drowning incident, Pulaski County (Pitman Creek Area)

?The victim 65-year-old Ricky Turner

Emergency units responded Saturday afternoon; the search was suspended overnight and resumed Sunday morning, with his body found Sunday afternoon.

? The Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad reported that units responded to a water rescue in the Pitman Creek area after someone jumped into the water from a boat and did not resurface.
