A single-vehicle rollover crash near Lake Cumberland State Resort Park sent two local women to the hospital after they had to be extricated from their vehicle.
The accident occurred on US-127 North, roughly one mile from the state park entrance, when 57-year-old Kimberly Bentley of Albany lost control of her 2014 Chevy Sonic while rounding a curve. After overcorrecting, the compact car spun out and flipped onto its side.
Both Bentley and her passenger, 21-year-old Destiny Bradshaw, were trapped inside the overturned vehicle. First responders from the Jamestown Fire Department and Russell County EMS worked together to cut the women free from the wreckage.
Bentley and Bradshaw were then transported by ambulance to Russell County Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
