The Columbia Police Department was dispatched to a parking lot in reference to an assault that occurred on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at approximately 10:49pmCT. Upon arrival, officers investigated the incident involving a male juvenile victim. The juvenile was not injured during the incident.
Chance R. Burton, 27, of Columbia, KY was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with Assault 4th Degree (No Visible Injuries) and Robbery 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
Columbia Police Officer Dustin Bunch made the arrest. He was assisted by Columbia Police Officer Colton Nunn.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
