One Dead, Another Airlifted Following Two-Vehicle Crash on Cumberland Parkway
Emergency crews responded to the crash on the eastbound side of the parkway near the Nancy exit. According to the Nancy Fire Department, the impact caused one of the vehicles to roll over, trapping two occupants inside. Rescue crews extricated both individuals from the wreckage.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office confirmed the fatality, stating the victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
The second rescued individual was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to a regional hospital. Their identity and current condition have not been released.
First responders from the Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad and the Nancy Fire Department assisted at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
