The Russell County Sheriff’s Office responded to 636 calls for service in August, according to a report presented to the fiscal court by Sheriff Derek Polston.
During the month, deputies made 49 arrests, completed 131 traffic stops, and investigated 22 traffic accidents, five of which involved injuries. The department also handled 147 prisoner transports—traveling over 4,300 miles—served 232 court documents, conducted 111 vehicle inspections, and issued 11 concealed-carry permits.
