Jesse Wayne Phillips, 39, has been taken into custody in connection with the May 27 fatal shooting of 40-year-old Christopher B. Yates along Parker Road in Pickett County, Tennessee.
Following a dispute that resulted in Yates’ death at the hospital, Phillips fled the scene in a pickup truck and was last tracked to Clinton County, Kentucky. The TBI subsequently added him to its Most Wanted list, and the U.S. Marshals Service issued a wanted poster warning that he was armed, dangerous, and possessed an extensive violent criminal history.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Pickett County Sheriff's Office and the TBI confirmed Phillips' arrest. Authorities have not yet released details regarding where or how he was apprehended.
