6 Arrests Made as CPD Conducts Drug Enforcement Operation

The Columbia Police Department conducted a drug enforcement operation today as part of ongoing investigations into illegal drug activity in the City of Columbia and throughout the Adair County area.

The investigations were conducted by Columbia Police Department HIDTA Detective Ethan Pike and Columbia Police Officer Travis Bell.

Columbia Police Department personnel, along with members of the Kentucky State Police DESI West,  and the ATF served indictment warrants on individuals identified through these investigations.

The following individuals were taken into custody today, September 18, 2026, on the charges listed below:

• Daniel C. Burton, 41, of Columbia, Kentucky, was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) and Persistent Felony Offender.

• Rhonda K. Jones, 61, of Columbia, Kentucky, was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, 2nd Offense or Greater (Methamphetamine).

• Angela J. Dyer, 53, of Columbia, Kentucky, was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, 1st Offense.

• Felipe A. Abston, 22, of Columbia, Kentucky, was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Cocaine).

• Jeffery L. Bailey, 49, of Columbia, Kentucky, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree (Drug Unspecified), and Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, 1st Offense. Mr. Bailey turned himself in to the Columbia Police Department.

All individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Additional arrests are expected to be made in the Adair County area, as well as surrounding counties, as these investigations continue.

The Columbia Police Department would like to thank the Kentucky State Police DESI West, ATF, and Commonwealth Attorney Brian Wright for their continued partnership and assistance in addressing illegal drug activity in our community.

The Columbia Police Department also reminds citizens about the department’s anonymous crime tip line, “Cally’s Line,” at (270) 378-2259. Information received through Cally’s Line contributed to the identification of some of the individuals taken into custody in connection with these drug-trafficking investigations.

The Columbia Police Department remains committed to investigating drug-related offenses and working closely with our local, state, and federal law-enforcement partners to help keep the City of Columbia and Adair County safe.
