The Russell County Industrial Development Authority met this morning (Tuesday) for their regular monthly meeting, where they discussed donating three acres of land within the industrial park for a new Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department substation.

Fire department representatives presented a proposal highlighting how the new facility would serve the broader community while directly accommodating ongoing and future growth in the industrial sector. Long-term plans for the site may also feature an on-premises training facility.

The project is slated to move forward pending state approval and completed land surveys.
